Engaged Learning with XO

Hands of Charity Teams have been working all winter with groups of children in the Bungoma district at the Bukokholo primary and secondary schools.  The focus has been on developing an HIV AIDS curriculum that engages children in learning information that applies to their need to know in the context of their own lives.  The UNICEF report on HIV/AIDS education in Kenya is that the material was abstract. Youth did not relate the teaching to their lives.  The XO camera, which records sound, video and still photographs was used recording stories of children affected by HIV AIDS to bring the curriculum to all children.
The teams plan to share their experience, learning and curriculum with other XO projects in Kenya.
