Milan Mijatovic

Milan is technology enthusiast currently working at E*TRADE FINANCIAL where he helps implement research and strategy initiatives under the Marketing department. His formal background is in Applied Mathematics and Statistics and he has also spent a considerable amount of time studying Computer Science. Milan has practical knowledge of building computers, programming, and networking. He’s also well versed in the handling of data, it’s dissemination, processing, and reporting. While being very hands on and technical, he tries to bridge the gap between large amounts of data and the end user. The ultimate goal being to take things that are very complex and make them digestible.

Alan Papert

Worked for 55 years as an engineer, 44 years of which involved supervising and mentoring other electronic engineers. This included four years, from 1972 to 1976, as president and engineering director in General Turtle, a company formed to provide a primitive form of the tools provided by OLPC to the education community. He has maintained a keen interest in education, although working in other areas.

Edo Kombana Mokonzi

Holds masters degrees in both Economics and Business. He has served as the Chairman of the Board and General Manager Kasongo Business Group, Chief Auditor and OKIMO (Office de mines d`Or de Kilo Moto), and was director of Micro-Finance and Technology center for Shalupe in Kinshasa. He is currently a project manager for Shalupe Foundation USA, and a Small Solutions founding member.

Sandra Thaxter

Has a long career both in the software industry and international education. She has a passion for kids, languages, learning and traveling. She did graduate work at in language and literature at Indiana University and Boston University, and later studied computer science and business. She worked at Lotus and IBM, as well as other Boston areas software companies. Most recently she was in the IT department at UNICEF. She speaks French, German and English. She is a Small Solutions founding member.
