University First Year Students
Brighton Meng'use Cherbor First Year of College at Pawani University Brighton came to us through a teacher at the local primary school. He was an orphan without mother or father,. He was living with the teacher and her family. Brighton excelled in school and was without an opportunity to attend secondary school. Brighton's sensitivities and intelligence shine through his shy very quiet exterior. You see him here in this photo with he peers at our center. He has benefited from the community support of the other students, and contributed to helping those less academically apt, such as Edwin sitting to the left of Sandra during a 2020 visit. Brighton performed very well in a competitive high school, and is now attending university.
Edwin Sipupu Attending Kitale National Polytechnic School
Edwin has been a faithful and enthusiastic participant in the programs connecting Kenyan youth with youth here. We first met him when he was in primary school, and wanted to become a carpenter. Since then we have supported him through secondary school, and he is hoping to become and agriculturalist. This is a critical skill for youth in this rural environmentally rich area, and for the programs in crop and soil remediation that RKY has been leading.
