We Welcome You to Visit Our Kenyan Community with US
Service In the Village . The location is Malakisi in Western Kenya among the rolling hills in the shadow of Mount Elgon. Your cost is travel, food and the assistance of property caretakers.
We will host you in our village at the farm of the Episcopal church. This is the time to contribute your hands and heart to the community in the manner of your choosing. People from the countryside feel honored that you have come to their village. Whatever skills you have: teaching soccer or volleyball, playing chess or checkers, teaching them some nutrition or food preparation, carpentry, or working in the gardens, teaching coding, doing an art, music or writing project. All are welcomed!
- Bring your skills to rural Kenyan youth and their families, whether it is as a teacher, a health care worker, or just bring yourself. Read stories to children, teach them music, show them how to sew, or play soccer or build fitness. Visit with the disabled.
- Talk to adolescent girls about their lives and future.
- Plant some trees or assist in planting and harvesting crops
- Visit the local schools to share your expertise and personal stories
